Have You Ever Wanted to Make a New Year’s Resolution That Actually Sticks?

Are you one of those people who complains about the gym being extra full during the first few weeks of the new year…or are you one of the newcomers who flocks to the gym on January 1st?
It’s probably not too difficult to figure out what the most popular New Year’s resolution is, but can you take a stab at guessing the 10 most common New Year’s resolutions? Here they are:
- Exercise more
- Lose weight
- Get organized
- Learn a new skill or hobby
- Live life to the fullest
- Save more money or spend less money
- Quit smoking
- Spend more time with family and friends
- Travel more
It’s that time of year again, when everyone is so full of hope and optimism about what the new year will bring…or maybe 2020 turned even the most shiny optimists among us into cynics. Either way, now is the time when people crave a fresh start and put renewed effort into making their goals happen.
Yet sadly, only 46% of people actually follow through with their New Year’s resolutions. Why is that? Well, it’s difficult to stay motivated once the new year sparkles wear off and the never ending rain (if you live in the Pacific Northwest like me) in March and April dulls your spirits.
Plus, let’s face it—most people’s resolutions just aren’t very fun. Losing weight seems admirable until your tiny plate of lettuce with a single walnut leaves you hungry. Saving money is a good goal until you have to say no to a family vacation because it doesn’t fit in your budget. Reading more sounds lovely until you stress yourself out because you didn’t meet your monthly goal of finishing 29 classics.
Now, I’m not trying to be a total pessimist. I just think it’s time for you to make a New Year’s resolution that brings you joy, enhances your quality of life, and actually lasts through all of 2021 and beyond.
Let your New Year’s resolution be improving your mental health.
Too many people are hyper focused on their physical appearance, but they neglect their mental well-being. They allow themselves to get stressed to the point of collapse, but they never miss a morning weightlifting session. What they don’t realize is this: your mental health is inextricably linked to your physical health.
Your beach body won’t help your self-esteem if you constantly have panic attacks due to mismanaged anxiety. Your marathon training won’t make you feel like a conqueror if your strained immune system gets taken out by a bad cold and you have to stay home from said marathon (a version of this hypothetical scenario actually happened to our CEO Scott many years ago…he ended up getting hospitalized with pneumonia and becoming only slightly less stubborn).
Why not focus on your mental health for a change?
Hapbee neural headset is designed to help you do just that. You can choose from our six original signals based on how you want to feel. Become Happy, Focused, Relaxed, Alert, Calm, or Sleepy within just a few minutes. It really is that simple.
Here’s the best part: you’ll probably love it so much you won’t ever want to stop. You won’t remotely be tempted to flake out on your New Year’s resolution. And your mental health in December 2021 might just be completely transformed. New year, new you. Order now.
